The African Association of Accountants General has released a Model Government-Wide Integrated Risk Management (GW-IRM) Guide, a new framework designed to help African governments address critical national risks. This release comes as countries across the continent face increasing threats, including climate change, pandemics, cyber risks, fiscal shocks, terrorism, and changing geopolitical dynamics.
The Guide provides Member Countries with practical tools to integrate risk management into planning, budgeting, financial oversight, and decision-making. It encourages collaboration between governments and communities to strengthen resilience, accountability, and financial stability. By helping leaders anticipate and address major risks, the Guide supports continued progress and the well-being of citizens.
The Guide was developed in English, but AAAG provided French and Portuguese versions.
