Technical Assistance
AAAG provides hands-on technical support to its Member States, helping them strengthen public financial management systems through tailored reforms, adoption of international accounting standards, and improved fiscal reporting practices. This assistance addresses the specific needs of each country, ensuring practical solutions for national contexts.
Capacity Building
Through tailored training programs, workshops, and peer learning, AAAG equips Accountants General and their teams with the skills and tools to fulfill their mandates. The focus is on building long-term institutional capacity that fosters accountability, efficiency, and transparency in the management of public resources.
Advocacy
AAAG serves as the collective voice of Accountants General across Africa, engaging with Governments, the African Union, development partners, and global institutions to champion strong financial governance. By emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability, the Association advocates for reforms and policies that foster trust and enhance the effectiveness of public institutions.
Knowledge sharing
AAAG facilitates the exchange of ideas, experiences, and best practices among its members. This includes creating platforms for dialogue, publishing resources, and developing guidelines to help countries learn from one another and apply proven solutions to common challenges in public financial management.
Research
Through studies, surveys, and policy analysis, AAAG generates evidence-based insights that inform decision-making at national and continental levels. Research outputs identify gaps, highlight opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations for advancing fiscal governance across Africa.
