Africa’s leading public finance Conference will head to Eswatini in 2026, underscoring the country’s growing leadership in promoting fiscal transparency and accountable financial governance across the continent.

Accra, Ghana, November 27, 2025 – Today, the African Association of Accountants General (AAAG), in collaboration with the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini, announced that the 4th AAAG Conference will be held in Mbabane, Eswatini, in December 2026.
The announcement followed the 3rd AAAG Conference in Accra, Ghana, which brought together over1500 delegates from 28 countries, including Accountants General, senior public finance leaders, development partners, and representatives from international organizations. The conference reaffirmed AAAG’s commitment to strengthening public financial management and promoting transparency across Africa.
The AAAG annual conference is now Africa’s leading platform for Accountants General and senior finance leaders to share knowledge, address emerging challenges, and advance innovations that improve transparency, governance, and service delivery.
The 2026 conference in Eswatini will continue this legacy with a focus on the future of public finance leadership. The theme and agenda will be announced in early 2026, with sessions expected to cover digital transformation, sustainable finance, gender-responsive budgeting, and the green economy.
In addition to policy discussions, the 2026 conference will offer technical workshops, innovation showcases, and a PFM exhibition zone, providing opportunities for collaboration and exploring new models for efficiency and impact.
WHY ESWATINI?
Eswatini was selected for its commitment to sound financial governance, fiscal reform, and modernization of public sector systems. The country has strengthened accountability frameworks and advanced digital public finance solutions, aligning with AAAG’s strategic priorities. [add example of Eswatini PFM reform]
