Mr. Kwasi Agyei is a highly accomplished public finance executive and Chartered Accountant with over 23 years of experience in Public Financial Management (PFM) and financial reporting aligned with international standards. He currently serves as Ghana’s Controller and Accountant-General, leading the management of the nation’s public funds while upholding the integrity of national accounts and promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public sector financial operations. Mr. Agyei began his career at the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) in 2002 as a Principal Accountant and has progressed steadily to his current distinguished role. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics, an MSc in Accounting and Finance, and an MBA in Strategic Management and Leadership. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant, qualified through the prestigious Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and is also a proud Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG). He has undertaken several professional development programmes in public financial management and leadership, further strengthening his expertise. Throughout his career, Mr. Agyei has made significant contributions to enhancing Ghana’s financial integrity and accountability.
