Controller and Accountant General – Ghana

Mr. Kwasi Agyei is a highly experienced Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Accounting and Finance, and International Master of Business Administration (MBA). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Accounting and Economics. Mr. Agyei has served on various Boards including the Ministerial Advisory Board of the Ministry of Finance, the Ghana Road Fund Management Board and the Railway Development Fund Committee. He has also held several positions in different organizations including Director of Finance at the Ministry of Energy, Director of Accounts at the Ministry of Petroleum, Head of Finance at the Food and Drugs Authority and Chief Treasury Officer at the Ministry of Finance.

Accountant-General of the Federation – Nigeria

Dr. SHAMSELDEEN B. OGUNJIMI, FCA, FCS, FCTI, CFE (USA), MCS (UK) was born on 27th November 1967 in Lagos, Nigeria. He had his primary education at Muslim ‘B’ Primary School, Ikorodu, Lagos from 1974 – 1980, before proceeding to Government College, Ikorodu, Lagos (1980 – 1985). He had his first degree at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State (1986 – 1990) where he obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) Degree in Accountancy. In his pursuit for greater knowledge in the Accounting Profession, he proceeded to the University of Lagos where he bagged a Master’s degree in Finance in year, 2000 which was followed by a Master degree in Accounting from the Nasarawa State University in year 2020 and later caped his academic pursuit with PhD in Accounting in year,2025.

He started his working career as an Accountant with Humana Diagnostic & Heart Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos in 1991 before moving on to the Lagos State Public Works Corporation in 1992. From 1993 to 1998, he worked as a banking Officer at ICON Stockbrokers Ltd and between April, 1998 to August, 2000, Dr. Shamseldeen B. Ogunjimi , was the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer at Trust Yields Securities Ltd, Ikoyi, Lagos (Investment Bankers).

He began his career in the Federal Civil Service in the year 2000 when he was appointed to the Service under the pool of OFFICE OF THE ACCOUNTANT- GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION and worked as Principal Internal Auditor and Head of Internal Audit Unit in the Ministry of Defence, Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Center and Nigerian Navy Headquarters respectively, between year 2000 and 2007.

Dr. Shamseldeen B, Ogunjimi, between 2007 to 2010 worked as Head of Accounts of the Nigerian Copyright Commission and in the year 2010 to 2017 , he worked as Assistant Director in both the Ministry of Police Affairs and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and as Deputy Director Accounts in the Federal Ministry of Environment.

As a brilliant Accountant with high level of Professionalism and having an excellent and successful career in the Civil Service, between the year 2017 to 2020, Dr. Ogunjimi worked as Deputy Director, Internal Audit and later Director Internal Audit in the Nigeria Immigration Service. He was later redeployed to National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and the Nigeria Immigration Service as Director of Finance and Accounts and later to the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) as Director of Finance and Accounts, where he brought his wealth of experience to bear in repositioning the Finance and Accounts departments of the three Agencies.

In continuity of his professionalism and the reforms carried out in various agencies he worked, other Chief Executives sought for his advice and between March, 2021 and February,2023 he was deployed as Director of Finance and Accounts to the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), Code of Conduct Bureau and later as Treasury Director of Revenue in Nigerian Ports Authority.

Arising for his desire to reposition the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, between February, 2023 and November, 2024 Dr. Ogunjimi was posted as Director, Financial Reforms, Finance and Accounts Department, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and later Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Director of Finance and Accounts after which he was redeployed as Director of Funds in OAGF when His Excellency, President and Commander -in – Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR found him worthy and appoint him as Acting Accountant-General of the Federation and later as Substantive Accountant-General of the Federation on 7th March,2025 after a rigorous selection process.
